On a daily basis, we receive inquiries from individuals seeking care for themselves or their loved ones. We take the time to understand the specific care requirements, gather information about the individual, and determine the preferred days and times for care.
Leveraging our innovative matching process, we identify the most suitable carers who can provide assistance. If you’re one of these carers, you’ll receive an opportunity with comprehensive details about the assignment, allowing you to decide whether you’d like your profile to be shared with the client. This opportunity will also be accessible on your carer portal for easy monitoring of progress.
After receiving profiles of the most suitable carers, the client will select the preferred carer for booking.
They may reach out to you with additional questions before finalizing their decision. The client will then proceed to book and make payment through our website. You will receive a confirmation email containing details of the booking for your records, and the booking will also be visible on your carer portal.
Upon joining Dependable Hands, you have the capacity to earn up to £17 per Hour, with a base minimum of £15 per Hour.
We don’t deduct any fees or charges, so what you earn is what youre paid.
Since youre self employed, we wont deduct any TAX or NI costs either.
We don’t take any charges or fee’s for being part of the Dependable Hands family. We pay you the full hourly rate you earn.
We also don’t take any charges for your expenses, so those are paid to you in full as well.
Mileage – if your client needs you to drive them somewhere in your car, is charged to the client at the standard rate (45p/mile).
Please note that you cannot charge mileage for travel to and from the client’s home.
The number of hours you receive may fluctuate based on your location and availability.
Certain carers bill over 35 hours per week through Dependable Hands, while others bill only a few hours weekly. Building up your client base may take time, but by being flexible with your schedule and operating in a high-demand area, you can rapidly increase your billable hours.

Leveraging our platform, we ensure that you receive substantially higher pay compared to carers employed by traditional care agencies. Additionally, we empower you with control over your client selection and the flexibility to determine your working hours.
When you become a self-employed carer with Dependable Hands, you become part of a supportive community of caregivers. Accessible through our online portal, you can efficiently manage your timesheets, set your availability, view live opportunities, and access various supporting documents. All timesheets and statements are conveniently stored on your carer portal, streamlining record-keeping processes.
We assist you in finding clients by matching your skills and personality with individuals seeking care in your local area, minimizing travel distances. You’ll receive opportunities aligned with your availability, giving you the freedom to accept or decline based on your preferences for days and times.
At Dependable Hands, we ensure that you receive a superior pay rate compared to the average carer wage by only deducting a small commission.
As an introductory agency, our clients are required to book a minimum of 4 hours, spread out over the week. We prioritize quality care by implementing a minimum 1-hour visit per shift, eliminating rushed 15 or 20-minute visits.
With Dependable Hands, you won’t have to handle invoicing or chase payments from clients. Simply complete weekly timesheets, and we’ll handle invoicing on your behalf, ensuring prompt payment directly to your bank account a week later. Payment statements are sent to your email and stored on your portal for easy reference. Rest assured, we guarantee timely payments, even if the client utilizes a third party like Purple for payment.
Unlike other sole traders, joining Dependable Hands provides you with a robust support network. Our dedicated team is available to address any questions or concerns you may have, whether regarding your clients or self-employment. We also offer assistance in finding cover for your clients during pre-planned holidays and strive to arrange cover if you fall ill, ensuring continuity of care for your clients.

Absolutely – to utilize the Dependable Hands platform, you must be self-employed and register either as a sole trader, limited company, or an LLP.
The majority of Dependable Hands carers opt for sole trader registration, indicating that they are the sole individual operating their business. Registering as a limited company implies that your business possesses its distinct legal identity, even if you are its sole worker. In the case of limited company registration, additional information is required when filing tax returns.
A unique taxpayer reference number is the number you need to fill out your tax returns. You can get one by registering as self-employed online. You should then get a UTR number in the post within the following 10 days (21 if you’re abroad).
